Terms of Service – Saxton IT Services (SITS)
1. Our Services
Saxton IT Services provides professional website design and maintenance services, including consultations, project scoping, development, optimisation, and ongoing site management.
SITS does not undertake website design or hosting for domains associated with adult content, arms sales, or drug-related businesses.
2. Quotations and Project Initiation
Based on customer-provided information, SITS will issue a provisional quotation. Once accepted, work on the web design project will begin.
Under most circumstances, SITS does not require payment until the design is completed and accepted by the customer.
3. Customer Responsibilities
- Customers must provide textual and photographic content for their website.
- The design will be uploaded to a test server (e.g.,
http://test.co.uk), where customers can review progress and request changes. - Customers are expected to actively participate in the design process to ensure the final product aligns with their vision.
4. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
SITS will optimise websites to improve visibility on search engines, particularly Google (which accounts for 70% of all searches). Customers must provide up to 10 keywords or key phrases for this process.
5. Payment Terms
Upon final acceptance of the design, SITS will issue an invoice and a banking Standing Order form for payment processing.
Most websites are billed monthly on an ongoing basis with a minimum commitment of three years. More complex database-driven sites may include an initial cost plus monthly payments, also requiring a three-year commitment.
6. Website Finalisation
Once the standing order is confirmed, SITS will finalise the website, which may include:
- Domain name purchase (e.g.,
www.yourname.co.uk). - Routing name server details for customers with existing domains.
- Web space allocation and hosting setup.
- Submission to over 1,000 search engines and directories to boost rankings.
- Internal SEO enhancements, including linking to existing SITS websites.
7. Ongoing Maintenance and Updates
The monthly service charge includes:
- Text and image updates upon request.
- Annual web space renewal.
- Annual domain name renewal.
- Bi-monthly submission to major search engines.
- Ongoing SEO optimisation.
If major site modifications require new pages or significant design alterations, additional charges will apply, and a revised standing order will be issued.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
All custom code and design elements remain in the custody of SITS but are owned by the customer.
- The domain name is legally registered to the customer but paid for and maintained by SITS.
9. Termination & Site Transfer
Customers wishing to terminate services before the minimum three-year commitment must pay the outstanding balance. Upon full payment, SITS will provide access to the site code.
If the customer’s business ceases operations, the site code remains in SITS’s custody.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
